That's fantastic! We have only tried that once or twice with Rachel without that much luck. We will get there eventually. Man that must have been cool.
The funny thing about Henry's transition from the balance bike to the pedal bike was that he didn't understand pedaling and braking. He eventually figured it out with the training wheels. Now the training wheels are getting in his way when he attempts to ride over uneven ground, so I've been giving him the option of taking them off. We've been taking them off, putting them back on, taking them off, putting them back on at his request. He's not quite ready to give up the training wheels altogether because he can really rail turns at high speeds with them on.
We recently moved to Georgia where we are living, learning, and playing. We [used to] blog primarily for family and the few, special friends who enjoy our brand of crazy. [Now, it's all about Facebook. *sigh*]
