BTW, I was holding the parent of the year award for openly discussing "the day I realized there was no santa" in the middle of the CHILDREN'S section at Barnes and Noble. I'd like to earn it your way one day :)
Thanks. Hold on to it for now. When at the track and interacting with another Dad, whose 5-year-old son races bmx fulltime and was training for nationals, I was thinking that the best thing we can do for our children sometimes is get out of their way and let them face their fears and make their own mistakes. Other than driving to the track, the best thing I did that day was fade into the background.
We recently moved to Georgia where we are living, learning, and playing. We [used to] blog primarily for family and the few, special friends who enjoy our brand of crazy. [Now, it's all about Facebook. *sigh*]

I think I'll go ahead and pass that parent of the year award. Ryan, you're a rockstar. What a great way to spend the day with two boys.
